Abdominalplasty is a surgical procedure with which plastic surgeons count since the beginning of the XIX century.

This radical surgery is indicated when it’s the desire of the patient is to show off a flat stomach, and has skin in this area which is flabby, with or without fat deposits, with or without abdominal muscle flabbiness.  

This means, that the essential condition to perform this surgery is to have abundant abdominal skin with loss of elasticity; that may or not have stretch marks. This condition appears when the abdominal diameter increases due to overweight or pregnancy. 

Although, it’s true that this increase of the abdominal diameter can diminish with weight loss or when the pregnancy ends, there might be one of two results obtained after the weight loss: 

1. – The abdomen could flatten once again or

2. - The abdomen hangs or is excessive  

If it’s the patient’s desire to improve his or her appearance even more, then for the second case, an abdominalplasty is recommended.  

If after a self analysis you reach the conclusion that you belong to the second group, then without a doubt, the abdominalplasty is the best option for your needs.
