When a nose is broken it’s because it has a septal deviation and the surgery to fix this is a Rhinoseptoplasty, when in good hands the results are good and there should be no complications if you are healthy and have chosen a good surgeon. The Rhinoseptoplasty can be performed by a Plastic Surgeon who knows how to repair the septal deviation or by an otorhinolaryngologist who knows how to perform a Nasal Aesthetic Surgery.  

Characteristics of the septal deviation are the external appearance of having a crooked nose or deviated to one side or both, this is the external manifestation that the internal nasal structures are deviated, which causes to also have hypertrophied trumpets. All these physical characteristics are corrected with an aesthetic-functional surgery  

In general, this is a surgery performed in an operating room under local anesthesia and sedation. The patient can go back home the same day, with a small splint and nasal plugs. 

At home you will have to rest, and take medicine so you won’t feel pain, and also some antibiotics..

 At least three days of rest. 

After the operation, check ups and nursing of the wound and dressings will be done at the doctor’s office. Depending on each case, the splint will be removed after one week, and the surgeon will remove the nasal plugs when considered convenient. 

Physical exercise and exposure to the sun, not till one month later. 

REQUIREMENTS TO OPERATE

In order to be operated, you must be healthy and your pre-surgical exams must be normal.

It’s recommended to stop taking vitamin E, aspirin, anti-inflammatory medicine, steroids and others.

After the surgery the nose will look straight with out deviations, and have a good respiratory function.

If you suffer of an allergic and or vessel constrictor rhinitis, a treatment is started before the surgery and it’s continued after the postoperative.
